My Journey in Pictures

In my lifetime, I have been fortunate enough to cultivate a great many talents.  I am particularly gifted at gaining weight. This May 2008 photo marked the third time that I have successfully gained 50+ pounds.  The good news: I knew how to lose weight as well.  The bad news: I had know idea, at the time, how to keep it off.
This picture was taken on July 4, 2008, two days shy of my 38th birthday.  This photo really hit home with me.  I weigh 230 pounds in the photo.  I was talking, and apparently boring, my then two year old daughter, a daughter I may not live to see walk down the aisle if I had stayed on my current path.

I'm smiling because I know change is coming... or maybe I just have a happy belly!

On August 24, 2008, I decided to make a dramatic change in health and in my life.  This picture was taken (can you guess) on October 31, 2008.  By this point, I had lost about 30 pounds.

My son and I are making "funny faces" for the camera in December of 2008.  By this point, I had lost 50 pounds.

In this March 2009 photo, I have lost 60 pounds.  My son is again making a funny face at the camera to make sure you can see that he lost his first tooth!
For the next year, I kept the weight off primarily by running.  I have never considered myself much of a runner.  Nevertheless, in April 2010, I ran my first race ever, a half marathon.  My time was 1 hour and 52 minutes just in case you were wondering :)

Then in August of 2010, I started to "get serious" about this fitness thing.  This picture is from Day 1 of my first round of p90x instructed on video by Tony Horton.  There are no secrets when the shirt comes off, huh?
This picture is from Day 90 of my first round of p90x (November 2010).  Tony Horton is a bad man!  I hate him, but I love him!

This picture is from June 2011.  After one more round of p90x, I took on Insanity with Shaun T.  That brotha is a beast, but the results were worth it!  Today, I am working on another round of p90x with a little Insanity mixed in.  I will post the pictures when I finish!
One more round of p90x complete (December 2011).  Thanks Tony!  Next up - I am going to roll the dice and try to gain some weight - the right way.  Wish me luck!

This picture is from the 2012 Peachtree Road Race on July 4, 2012.  Ran hard and set my personal best for a 10K.
